Music Festivals …

Now ya’ll know that I am stoked for Toronto’s V-fest 08 and that one of my life goals is to go to Coachella…I was kind of confused as to WHY the Vancouver V-fest was canned for 2008. Well I think I found out! I had NO IDEA this was even occuring, but it looks like Vancouver just had its very own music festival…in the inaugural event … the Pemberton Festival. Just check out the line-up!!! http://www.pembertonfestival.com/lineup/index.aspx

DAMN. I am excited for V-fest, but LOOK…that line-up is NUTS.

Fri – Metric , Wolfmother , Interpol , Nine Inch Nails (WOW already!!! thats like 4 main acts in a row!)

Sat – Sam Roberts , Tragically Hip , Flaming Lips , Tom Petty (GREAT openers!!!)

Sun – Vampire Weekend (sweet indie), N.E.R.D , Deathcab for Cutie (as openers!?) , Jay -Z (WOW as an opener!?) , Coldplay ! (DAMN what a festival finale eh????) I AM JEALOUS ZEALOUS!!!! :@

And this was a REAL festival as you could camp near by the site just like Coachella and unlike V-fest.

I am totally added the Pemberton Festival to one of my Life goals. What a show!

Until next time,

Cheers !

I will finally be able to get chance to meet some of my all time favorite wrestlers like “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage, Kurt Angle, Sting and all the upcoming stars like LAX, Kaz, Black Mashismo and Sharkboy LOL.

Anyways, it goes down on Sunday Sept 14.08.

V-fest 08…

Hey all,

As you know, I am a huge Virgin festival fan, and I had the privilege of getting a photo pass last year, and got to see the likes of Bjork, Interpol, The Killers and Smashing Pumpkins and many many more.

This year is quite the show as well featuring the Foo Fighters, Bloc Party, Moby and Oasis. This year they also have some great upcoming bands like MGMT, the Pigeon Detectives and Silversun Pickups.

However, I don’t think vfest 08 can compare with vfest 07…..07 was just outstanding. There is STILL PLENTY time though! I think if a Virgin can add a few more “key” bands, 08 will be solid….I have some recommendations 😛

1) I know it’s a long shot (cause they are already playing 2 dates @ the ACC), but if they had Coldplay or The Verve open for Oasis, that would be the BOMB.

2) Regina Spektor would be a fantastic artist to open for Bloc Party

3) Tegan and Sara would be a great mid-carder like how Tokyo Police Club and Stars played before Metric and The Killers in 07

4) And, two words: Katy Perry

Anyways…enough with my ideas, I’m looking forward to see MGMT, Bloc Party, Foo Fighters and Oasis…but surprisingly, I’m really pumped to see Deadmau5 and Moby (DJ set) bring down the house on the Bacardi B-Live stage.

More updates to come!

Cheers!

Summer Tunes

Ah summer days, long and nice. What music is in your summer playlist?

For me…easy! My top 5 albums for summer 08 are (in no particular order):

1. MGMT – “Oracular Spectacular”, amazing album straight up.

2. The Duke Spirit – “Neptune”, another outstanding album from some brits

3. Portishead – “Third” , badass british trip-hop

4. I know its not even close to a summer released album…but still Radiohead – “In Rainbows”

5. Coldplay – “Viva la Vida” , the more I listen to it , that more I like it!

I’ll be back……..

Go watch The Dark Knight !!!!

Cheers!
